Mauthernklamm - "Valentinbach"

Easy and quite flat descent, with some beautiful jumps and toboggans, within long walks on a very slippery bed.

Alt. Difference: 130 meters (900-770)
Rope descents: no rope descents, the descent is entirely bolted with iron cables, higher drop 12 meters

Equipment: 1 rope 60 mt long

 

WARNING! Artificial dam over the canyon.

Access
lower: from Mauthen, a little village under the PlockenPass, follow the seguire le indications for NaturWasser Bad, an amusing bathing establishment with natural pools and snack-bars.
upper: come back onto the road of the PlockenPass and rise until the Gasthof Eder; about 500 meters after the gasthof, follow a path on the left with the indications for "Romerweg / Mauthen".

Approach: from the parking take the path leading in a few minutes to the water.

Coming back: take off your wetsuits once you reach gangways and then go on the path until a non asphalted road, just after a natural arc, steeply rising back to the bathing establishment.
