Gole del Soffia

Extremely beautiful and hard canyon: rumbling water, no way out for 5 hours, two hours and a half of engagement and high rope descents uncomfortably belayed, inside a wonderful environment. An unforgettable must.

Access: take the road leading from Belluno to Feltre and then turn towards Sospirolo. From the village follow the indications for the Mis lake, run along the lake until the affluent and cross the river; just after the bridge turn heading for the Cascate della Soffia (Soffia falls). Park at the end of the road, near a refreshment-area.

Approach: leaving the parking, take the steep asphalted road (only for residents cars) which leads to Gena Alta, a little hamlet with a few restored huts. Once at the village, near a fountain with wash-tub, take a flat grassy road on the right which in 15 minutes takes near to the gorge, where a little path on the right runs down to the river bed; the beginning of the canyoning descent is a beautiful 5 metres high toboggan.

Coming back: reach the refreshment-area direcly from the lake.
